DeMarillac Formal Attire offers alterations, which provides hands-on training opportunities for individuals trained in sewing and alterations. Many people from local businesses and churches have come in to receive custom alterations on their clothing.
We offer alterations on many casual clothes including pants, shirts, and skirts, as well as formal garments like wedding dresses. No appointments are necessary; clients are more than welcome to bring in clothing to be altered during our business hours. From there, our seamstresses will measure and pin what is needed to start on your alterations.
Here are some guidelines to help us ensure you the best fit:
- To have the bodice/top/sides altered, we would recommend you bring any bra/undergarments/etc. you would be wearing with the altered piece (or one about the same size and thickness).
- To have length hemmed, we would recommend bringing shoes/heels that would be worn with the altered piece (or a pair of approximate height).
Alteration costs depend on a variety of factors including fabric type, fabric thickness, amount of layers, internal boning, and the like. A price quote can be provided by bringing in the clothing piece to have one of our seamstresses make an estimate.
